After save as this happen

This happen every time I did a save as ? I can get it back, but it is a very annoying. Any body know the solutions. I use Window 11, it happen on other computer too.

You’re using Blender 4.4 alpha. Does this happen on previous versions (4.2, 4.3) ?

If so, might be a bug on 4.4, and this might be temporary.

In the second screenshot, you also have a non-final version (beta).

What if you just check the latest fully released version? Is it also like this? If yes, it may be something on your end. If not, then maybe a bug that can be reported :blush:

Weird that it happens on more than one PC. Do they have something in common? (hardware, screen size/resolution, etc) or are they different, just using the same Windows (11) ?

You can try a few things:

  • change the scale of the viewport on Edit → Settings → Interface → Resolution Scale;
  • reset Blender settings: File → Defaults → Load Factory Settings (note: this will reset other settings like addons and shortcuts);
  • you can also delete the settings files on the appdata folder, see the paths on ( https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/advanced/blender_directory_layout.html );
  • check Windows scaling: press the Windows key and type “scale”, one of the options should be “make everything bigger”, see if changing text or app sizes has any effect;
  • check if your gpu software (nvidia control panel or geforce experience for example) is not applying some change or optimization to Blender;
  • delete and download Blender again (preferably zip) to a different folder, and when first running, don’t load settings from a previous installation;
  • check if your GPU drivers (and Windows itself) are up to date

I load the Default, and it work fine. I think it got to do with my work space setting; when I load my workspace into the default, and do a save as it happen again. May be I need to redo my workspace all over again. Thanks

Thank you very much. It is one of my workspace that causing the problem. I don’t know what make the workspace to create the issue; I have been working with this issue for years.

Yeah, keeping settings between versions can cause a few issues, I had some between 4.1 and 4.2. Glad you found a solution.

If the default workspace setting is incorrect and you are supposed to open it as the default workspace when you open the file, the same problem can be repeated.

  1. Problems that open to the default workspace can be done in preferences.

  2. For the basic workspace setting problem, you can organize it in the desired form and reset it.

Normally, I use alpha version quite often; and I open one of my workspace setting file and save as default. I think my UI file was started since 2.8; I have never knew that it can cause such a head ached. After loading the default blender factory, therefor problem solved. Thanks for you response.
