Haltèrego — kettle bag

The weight of societal diktats

It’s been a long time since I last did any 3D, so here is my latest project. Titled “Haltère Ego”, this piece is a sort of visual poem that falls into an aesthetic I like to call Aero Strange Glam. Behind this polished, airy, and futuristic imagery, my intention was to explore and challenge the invisible yet crushing weight of societal diktats and the obsession with perfection imposed by our modern world.

To tell this story, I chose to reinvent a traditional kettlebell by combining starkly contrasting textures. The body of the weight is wrapped in a rich, textured leather reminiscent of luxury goods, while the handle unfolds into a fluid, ultra-glossy chrome, all stamped with the “KG” mark. This serves to symbolize the way modern consumer culture glamorizes physical struggle, turning a grueling effort into a mere status symbol.

The artwork also conceals several philosophical and historical clues. The translucent glass spirals floating in mid-air are not just decorative elements; they geometrically trace the logarithmic spiral of the Golden Ratio (Φ), representing the mathematical equation of the human form and the obsessive pursuit of ideal proportions. Finally, if you zoom in closely on the hand’s metallic turquoise nail, you will find the reflected portrait of Botticelli’s Venus. This tiny detail bridges the gap between the ultimate allegory of Renaissance beauty and our contemporary self-care rituals.

Ultimately, this project was an exercise in creating a permanent contrast between the heavy burden of the message and the effortless lightness of the composition. For anyone interested in seeing more of my work, you can find me on Instagram: @eal.in.3d.
