Hard Ops Thread

Where was the problem?

So, I found an unconvinient thing.
It’s about “Hide Overlays” option.

When I hide yellow edges by clicking “hide overlays” and then select an edge and click “make SSharp” it’s all yellows edges appear again
but an eye icon is disabled and to hide them I need to click twice on that menu item.

I Use blener 2.75 for this moment, there are less glitches like that with uneven edges sharpening.
I’m going to start to rebuild my robots after a small vacation.
And I almost finished a joint mechanism. And I need to get used to with your amazing addon.

So… sometimes even in blender 2.75 this issue appears. But only one or two times of full night work.

That AR stuff is just amazing! I gotta see how both characters look together! Vitaliy. You don’t cease to impress haha. Thats some amazing modelling. I am in awe. That machinery is just awesome. The articulation too. Your a guy to watch. I hope to see more on your artstation too.

i would try closing and reopening blender and possibly rebooting the PC. Also make sure you arent using install from file.

make sure you remove old version first and then…

@masterxeon1001 , HardOps is very impressive and I want to buy it but two things I couldn´t iron out when reading the thread here on BA and your blog, so here it comes:

  1. What Blender Version is the best in use for your addon?

  2. In the “Hard Ops Add On Public Demo (0.0.7.2)” Video you have these premade assets for inserting into your mesh, are they included and can they be used for commerical work?

I’m loving the …79 release, props for all your efforts on getting this out!

I have a question about the new material menu - when I go into edit mode at home and click Material, I get a list of a handful of materials to select from.

At work, having installed 0079, when I go to Material, I only get the one default material listed?

I went as far as removing the HOps folder and copying it back in, then thinking it was perhaps a Blender config issue, I reset back to the defaults (ugh, I had doing that - is there an addon for managing configs???)

Anyway, after restoring all addons and reconfiguring things the way I like, still no joy with the 0079 Material menu having more than the one default material?

Any pointers or suggestions appreciated!

hard ops doesnt come with materials. Thats up to you the user to deal with. I wrote about setting it up here and how my Blender works.

I found your updated addon is without hard edge bug now.
And you hid “hide overlays” option… Are you going to add it again?

Wow, that’s interesting - I don’t remember doing anything with materials on my laptop, I’ll have to backtrack what I did, anyway thanks for the pointer!

the inserts have blank placeholder materials for quick replacement with other shaders but thats about it.
