Having trouble organizing the UV map in Blender......So I have a roundabout plan!

Whenever I create a UV map for Pistol, it comes out as a jumbled, schizophrenic mess.

So I have a question.

Can a external program like GIMP organize the map for you? Or failing that, what is the best and easiest way to organize it?

For example

-Make UV map in Blender.

-Save it as it is.

-Open it up in GIMP

  • Gimp automatically reorganizes it into a coherent picture.

Hmm, before you look into external programs, I just have a few questions:

  1. Are you setting edges as seams? Unwrapping won’t work well without seams.
  2. How jumbled is jumbled? Can you post up a screenshot?

GIMP cannot do what you want. The objects UV coordinates are part of the mesh nothing to do with an image.
