Hawker Siddeley Harrier

Here is project ive started couple of months ago but now ive decided to finish it. When im done ill do quick animation . Please feel free to c&c!

A good start, if I may say so - I shall watch with interest - this was the second Airfix model I ever had. Although then it was known as the P1127 - the original prototype that is now at the RNAS Museum in Yeovil, UK. Tell us which version you are doing please!

Cheers, Clock.

As Clock says - a good start. Should turn out a good model. Haven’t studied the Harrier enough to properly advise . Overall it looks the part . Two things raise questions to me. The intake rim looks a bit bulky/ not quite right -( but I could be wrong . Also the fuselage fairings for the nozzles look a bit sharp edged . Worth checking?

Hey guys tnx for the response, yes i screwed intake and nozzle fairing topology but decided to continue with project. I used reference photos from http://file:///F:/ProjectFolder/Blender/Blueprints/Air/Harrier/walk-around%20of%20Hawker%20Siddeley%20Harrier%20GR.3.html.

Here’s a present for you:

Tnx clock didnt knew about that site

Looks good. Should save that landing gear animation as an action, and make it part of the rig for them. (If not done already.) Also if I recall correctly, I think some sims allow the Harrier ducts to swivel forward a little bit. I’d guess that’s the case for the real aircraft too. Allows it to come to a hover more quickly and allows it to even go backwards a little bit. I’d say to research that out, and if the aircraft actually does that, then adjust the rig limits for their movement.

^^ The nozzles do come forward to slow the aircraft, control hover when not into wind and yes, it can fly backwards! Total movement was from straight back to 8.5deg forward of straight down.
