Here is a test of a model of headphones (AKG K701) i made and rendered with cycles :
I think it was around 2000 passes (30min - 1hour) to render.

Can I ask how you did the mesh with small holes? is this just solid surface using alpha or is it actual geometry?
BTW they look great!.. here’s something I was playing with but never finished, it’s Blender Internal.
