Hello
can someone please tell me how i can go about editing
the vertices of a soft body. After making one, how do i freeze
the object so i can go to edit mode and edit the vertices, and
turn it into a still object?

Go to the frame where you want to freeze the soft body and then apply the modifier in the modifiers panel.
