I am very new to blender. I searched a lot but could not find much about how to create foam texture like the one seen here. I need it for designing a packing cushion for electronic components. How can I do this without having to use image textures?
The texture is a Musgrave texture to create the foam ‘bits’ as a displacement
Then the texture is a combination diffuse/glossy for the material plus subsurface to get the thinness on edges letting light through
Thanks Martin! It is very similar to what I want! It renders much faster than when we try to approach it volumetrically. Let me play around with these nodes.
@tapeape thanks for that link too! That is the best to approach this. However, it takes very long to render. :\
Nevertheless, I will opt for that when I need great detail!
Appreciate this was a while ago but wanted to say thanks. How did you get on by the way? That prodeural material might be just what I need to make this reticulated foam. I hope it works been racking my brain all weekend.
