Help on UV Unwrapping.

Hello,
i’m currently texturing a low poly train that carry petroleum or some kind of stuffs like that.
The problem is, there’s only one reference texture for this image, hence i’ll have to setup the uv correctly inorder to achieve maximum efficiency.
so my problem is that as you see in the figure below, the uv of the floor of the train is not properly setup.
and i need help to fix it. also it’s for GE purposes and if you have suggestions on how to imrove it, please feel free.
Thanks in advance.

PS: i’m a beginner at modeling, so…

Basically, you are just projecting the texture on your train, thats why, you don’t have the proper textures on your train floor. separate your floor from the boiler and retexture it. (check out blendercookie.com for uvwrap techniques or search the forum).

Well. i do know that, but the problem is there’s no reference image for that exact image. But i think i’ll use some rust textures and apply it to the floor after unwrapping the floor faces from the top ortho mode. yeah that would likely solve it. Hmm on a side note textures are a bit scare, do you know any other good texture sites similar to cgtextures.com?

Whoa!
That would be more than what i could probably ask for.
man i usually never come around this section of BA forums, perhaps i should be doing more time reading this section of forum to gain more perfectionism.

practice and practice, you’ll learn a lot.
