Hi everyone, I just signed up! I need help with a fluid sim, I am trying to have water burst out of a pre-cell fractured ground. However, I need to turn all of the fractured pieces into fluid obstacles. The only way I can do that is to enable fluid physics for each piece, is there any way to apply a fluid physics modifier to a group of objects? Kind of like adding a rigid body world?
Here is a pic of my scene:
I haven’t found a way to do that, but I admit I’m still kind of new to Blender. If the ground is stationary during the fluid, consider making a merged copy of your ground for the simulation. If some pieces need to move during the simulation, you’ll need to keep them separate. I’ve found that fewer obstacles result in a quicker simulation. And be sure to remove any fluid modifiers from the original ground pieces.
If the ground starts out undamaged and then breaks open when the water shoots out, you still might want to use a copy of your ground mesh as an obstacle. After you get a decent result, you can always hide/delete your ground obstacle and unhide the original objects when it’s time to render.
you select one fragment. enable the fluid sim obstacle. Set to free slip (to not crash the sim) Select all of the fragments with the fluid sim fragment last as the active. Hit Ctrl-L to link the other fragments to the modifier.
