Help with geo-nodes pipe generator tutorial

Hi all!

Starting to learn geometry nodes and I’ve went thru a Ryan King Art series on youtube for generating a low poly flower on a curve. Next, I went with a pipe generator youtube tutorial and was doing good at that until I got to the elbow pipe fitting part.

At 10:30 in the video, he starts talking about finding the elbow parts to make an elbow fitting. At 12:50, he starts building the nodes for the elbow. At 15:30, he explains the first part of the node tree. At 16:45, he starts talking about deleting part of the mesh and this is where I get lost.

I get what he is doing, but my node tree looks the same as his, but the end result at 18:22 isn’t the same. None of my starting basis mesh is deleted when viewed.

Here’s my result:

Basically, only the two 90 degree bends should be visible in the 3D view. The parts of the node tree that do this deletion are shown.

here’s my .blend
GeoNode_Tut2.blend (1.1 MB)
Using blender 3.6.5

Thanks for any help!

Hi Randy,
you have to change the Data Type of these two nodes to Vector:

Good luck!

Thanks @Zebrahead - that was the part I was missing, changing those nodes to vector did the trick!

Looking at it now, I can see where the problem was. The output of those nodes connected to nodes that expected a vector, so the type needed to be vector.

Thanks to you, I now have a pipe generator
