Working on a boss creature for a game, and I came up with this. Any suggestions for making it more terrifying would be greatly appreciated, right now it looks like a refugee from a Disney movie :o .

Youâre right. Disney refugeeâŚ
Anyway, most game monsters are stylized versions of real animals. Yours, on first sight, looks like a cross between a lizard and a dog (Iâm probably just likening it to Cerberus from Greek mythology, though). Letâs say itâs a lizard, thoughâŚ
If you want it to be scary, think about an iguanaâs clawed feet. Make the claws sharp and long, and make the âtoesâ (if you will) large and powerful.
Define the chest area. Lots of monsters share qualities with humans, so make it look strong by adding in muscles. If you properly define this area, the rest should come easy.
The heads/necks look like theyâre arms. Refer to 2, specifically that they SHOULD be like a human neck and come from the top (even a snake is linear like this).
Add teeth.
Actually, you should nix the current head, model a new head separately, and then connect it to the new neck(s).
Try to find a reference picture of the type of animal youâre going for.
Hope that helps,
âlir
Incorporated the suggestions. Sorry, the heads like arms is a requirement.
in my opinion the necks are way too long. the monster looks unballanced instead of bulky and threatening. it depends though if you want this boss to be a high-hp/heavy-attack/slow boss or a medium-hp/medium-attack/fast boss. for the former i would reduce the neck length, increase the bulkyness of the legs and hollywoodize it (which means, add any number of useless horns, claws, spines, fins or whatever floats your boat).
