I’ve tried Virtual dub but it always froze. Anyway my problem is, how do you get blender, when rendering animations, to save each frame with the extension of .jpg ??? I just can’t figure out how to get the extension to .jpg without having to go and rename every frame.

There’s a button labelled “extensions” in lower left corner of the render buttons. That’ll save you some work:)
