I’m trying to find robot concept art or inspirational concept all over the internet and seem to be dumbfounded a lot of times. The types of characters i want sit right in between two renowned robot categories, which make it harder for me. I’m trying to find robot character who look cartoonish, yet, not so much as though it looks like i’ve literally put no hard work into it, or i don’t want anything so cartoony that it is just a box for head and body, and plastic tubes for arms, and that’s all the complexity. I want the character to have semi-complex and intricate designs and mechanisms, but just as i try looking for those robots on google, all i get are superbly buff, complicated, Transformer sized robot which are excessive for me. Some inspirations already for me are Wall-E, Robots (2005), and that’s about it, actually. Now, all i ask is if you guys could do the effort of jogging your memories and finding some sort of movie or franchise that i can look at to find good ideas, or post some pictures, or links. Anything would be appreciated, and i will strictly take ideas from it and will not plagiarize the models or characters.
P.S. Wall-E is exactly the kind i want. A model of cartoony, yet logical, robot, post-apocalyptic future design, and at the same time, adorable.
