You have Proportional Editing active, you can disable it by hitting letter “O” or by its icon on the viewport header, which you have hidden at the moment, or by the menu Mesh->Proportional Editing; or you can change the radius of influence via the mouse wheel, currently it is at 1.00, as you can see in bottom line info.

Okay, thank you! Haha, stupid question. I knew it was something simple like that.
If I may suggest, you would keep the default layout until you are not familiar with all (most of) commands and with the way which blender works, so that you are sure that all menus and functions are exposed and matching those of the wiki and tutorials.

I myself am much interested in why your screen is stretched horizontally. Is it not very difficult to work like that?
choose the next time an appropriate title, welcome to the forums
It’s not really like that, it is because I screen capped and pasted it in paint, and I use two monitors and for some reason it didn’t scale right. I have it set to fit my main monitor (Dell UltraSharp U2410. 1920x1200)
