Hello, guys! I finished my animated short film made in Blender about adventures of little robot on the alien planet. Rendered in Eevee.
Nice to see a bit longer animations, like this one, rendered with EEVEE. How did you use the environment light, or mix it? And did you turn down specularity on some materials?
Thanks. I think Eevee is good enough for stylized art.
Because of this is open environment I used HDRI + one Sun lamp.
Yes, specularity is turned down variously on most materials.
How did you deal with the fact that Environment light doesn’t cast shadows? Is that why you used the Sunlamp, or did you use AO to compensate for that?
Both of that, main shadows done by Sun, and some contacts by AO with increased distance. The main problem that shadows of the objects that are not in direct view are not working, but it is ok for stylized animation.
The story doesn’t feel like it matches the title. The native creatures didn’t seem to help any one.
Thank you, Bart
I like the music and character designs (the robot looks like a partial cross between Wall.E and Eve), but I wish there was a little more emphasis on sound.
Thanks! Yeah, it would be nice to have more emphasis on sound, hope it will be improved in the future works
