I must admit I feel bit funny about posting these here as they are not 100% Blender. I did the models using Heroforge.com, then textured and rendered them in Blender.

These are great!
I tried experiments like these. I found that I had to do a LOT of painstaking vertex selection to separate different parts of the geometry for texturing, and even then the geometry all melted together. Did you have a smart method I could learn from?
The parts were never separated, it’s still a single mesh, but there was still a LOT of painstaking vertex selection. I assigned the textures to the vertex selections.
