Hierarchy Selection

The subject of “groups” has come up many times over the years. I have even been apart of some of them. Eventually I have come to understand that the issue has always been a language problem. My proposal is about adding toggleable options to help bring things more inline with the typical expected behavior, and also leaving the default behavior intact. I do go much further into detail on RCS, please give it a read.

I know this is not as attractive as Nodes, but I do know it would greatly improve the useability of Blender all around. My intention with this, at most, is to get the conversation rolling in a productive manner on the subject. Or at the very least to inspire someone by addressing the language barrier/problem that has cause this to be an frustrating subject.

All I ask is to give it a read and, some consideration before dismissing the ideas.

Personally as someone who works with complex objects, and scenes, I know this would be a game changer. As well I know I am far from alone.
