Herre is a hoplite sword that i’m working on. I would appreciate some feedback.
looking decent so far =) i hope your planning to add more detail (perhaps an inscription into the blade or something) im curious to see what you do with this =)
what were you planning to use this for?
anywho, good job so far, model seems clean but its hard to tell from one view and no wireframe =P
Thanks for the feed back I will post closer views, diffrent angles and a wire frame view for you. As for what im useing it for i don’t know yet. I’am still learning how to use blender.
oh ok =D cool project then!
Looking really good so far  I’m looking forward to seeing more progress.
When it’s done, you should render it stabbing a durian fruit.
Just kidding on that one
Thanks for the comments. Here is a couple of more pictures of the hoplite sword. The one with the weird handle is more of a test then anything. I can not remember how to do wire view pictures sorry. Enjoy.

Although I now its supposed to look old, you might want to Ray Mirror that blade a bit. Or decrease the Hard. (slide it to the left…) Good start.
Thanks jeffery1234 I will adjust the hardness and use ray mirror to see how that looks. I will post new pictures asap. Thank you again.
The blade looks very thick, and adding a shadow casting lamp + ditching the blue background would help a lot.
Ok here is the hoplite sword with the hardness turned down and ray mirror adjusted a little. I will put in an extra lamp and dump the blue background for a black one.

Did you try shining up that blade a bit. It just looks all grey. even if its old it should look better. If it is a seperate object, Go to F5 (materials) and set the Hard anywhere from 5-20.and the spec to about 1. (about half way) Set your color to black. This is how you make a chrome object. Be sure and put a good light on it.
If its not a seperate object, highlite the sword blade in edit mode (vertices) and go to mesh-vertices-seperate.
A Ray Mirror in the Mirror Tran section (next to the shader tab) will make it reflect any object near it. (be sure and push the ray mirror buton an turn up the slider. Although if this is an old blade you probably dont want it reflecting much.
Dont know if you knew this or not, just trying to help.
Thanks jeffrey1234 I will try that. The sword was actuall modeled as a whole. I will post new pictures asap
