Horizontal scrolling in nodes panel

Hi, I’m almost 100% laptop user with no external mouse and keyboard.

In the nodes panel, I’m horizontal scrolling with CTRL+mouse scroll. But if the cursor pointer gets over any numeric value, it just stops horizontal scrolling and starts changing the numeric value inside the node. What’s horrible about this situation: you can’t undo it by CTRL+Z, because it does undo for every single accidental step, so you can easily press CTRL+Z 10 or more times without returning to the original state.

Vertical scrolling with SHIFT+mouse scroll works great, but I’m morbidly scared of scrolling.

Any idea how to solve it? Am I the only one who hates this behavior?

I use a mouse and full size keyboard, so I don’t run into this sort of thing.

Obviously that’s not good behavior, so I would suggest you submit it as a bug report.

I have tried it now with normal mouse and it’s the same with ctrl+mouse wheel

Cntl MMB(click) zooms, and mmb(click) scrolls - on my system with no issues.

I do not use control + the scroll wheel.

ETA: I know that the program has various features that attempt to maintain a feature set for users that have small keyboards and no mouse and only half a monitor, but it would not surprise me if there are issues in some cases.

UI/UX module will be delighted with a bug like this. You should report it. But yeah, you can’t go on like that in 3D, you’ll need more equipment
