Here’s a half a of horse I"m doing. the mesh isn’t all quads as I was trying to keep my polygon count low. Obviously the eyes need major work, the knees need to be detailed more (and it wouldn’t hurt to eliminate a few more polys) and it whole thing needs to be textured(right now I’m using noise). I feel confident I can UV map this sucker - I did it with an earlier albeit less detailed version. However once I finished the map I couldn’t generate convincing horsehair. Any suggesions would be appreciated.[/img]

It’s beginning to look alright. Although, I feel it could do with a little more detail before texturing, more definition in the muscles etc. Are you using a side and profile photo of a horse as reference? This will help a lot in getting the proportions right and maybe cut down on unnecessary polys. Good work so far.
