Hotwheels and Hair Animation- Golden Istanbul Skyline

Hi y’all.

I modelled a Nissan Patrol hotwheels from the 90s in Blender 3D, all from scratch. Thinking it would go well with a retro-themed, sensual saxophone, I built the rest of the scene by taking inspiration from Istanbul, Haliç (Golden Horn), a beautiful part of Istanbul where you can see the Islamic cityscape, the sea, the sunset… it feels like the center.

Thing took 3 days to render on a 3090 a scene of 6 seconds. I also decided to throw in some hair simulation… this proved difficult… I ended up avoiding rigid budy physics simulations with turbulence and wind etc, instead, I just used geo-nodes and animated noise vectors to wave the hair around.

Check me out on instgram, YouTube… Drop me a like and follow if you like my vibe

If y’all are interested in the specifics of the hair animation or hotwheels model, fret not as I will update this post with more documentation of the process ( though honestly, the hair mostly came from a YouTube tutorial ).

Cheers!
