edwin, we start them on irc (internet relay chat). We decide a topic and post the image after the deadline. smc stands for’ speed modelling contest’, so it’s not about lighting and certainly not about textures. If you want to join, dowload chatzilla (firefox extension), x-chat or mirc (or any other irc program) and join #smc on freenode.net.
