I’m a bit confused o how to hand paint a tree texture, I’m not sure if I’m supposed to do it on blender or not, I love the layout and workspace along with brushes of Sai and photoshop, but I can’t wrap my head around designing a texture from a uvmap that actually fits perfectly on a tree that has twists and turns.
I greatly dislike blenders Texture painting feature, in all honesty I wish they would improve upon it more and add better feature like found in photoshop.
So how do I design a tree texture properly? I can’t see myself actually using the brushes and tools in blender to design it, it would come out sloppy unlike if i was able to design something on photoshop.
Here’s an example of what I’m trying to do.
How would I make a texture for models like this? or more so, how should I start?
Why don’t you unwrap it and rough paint it with Blender and do all the fine detail in your favorite painting program?
Jaw drops… Ya know, that doesn’t sound half bad… >_> been staying up too late it’s messing with me.

You could paint it in 3d view as well in blender.
