How can i make an simple controlled based armature like the one posted here in blender

so i want a controller which controls the middle point of 2 bones. so if move the controller up, the rig which is parented also move up from middle like shown in the picture.

how can i achieve something like that?

thank you.

Must B1 and B2 be oriented as in the sketch? Both facing in the same direction.

If you can change the orientation, so that the tail of both B1 and B2 is in the centre, then you can do this with a driver on each bone’s Local Z rotation (depending on how you’ve rolled the bones)…

yes, B1 and B2 has to be in same direction. b1 and b2 are parented to a mesh which is a like “rubber band”(it has more bones), while the “controller” moving up and down will be parented to “hook” like mesh.

Ok. I’ll take a look and see if I can figure out a way.

So you want the bones to stretch to meet the controller, or they slide inwards to stay centred on the controller?

like if i move the controller (top bone), B1 and B2 like the concept.

is what i am looking to create

please do let me know if u have doubts.

thank you for taking ur time.

This is an interesting problem. Is there a reason why it must be bones? It would be much simpler with a curve and some hooks.

well i want to parent the (horizontal) rig to a “rope” like mesh, thats the reason i thought of using bones. for parenting. and the vertical bones as hooks.

this is a just concept to give some idea. sorry bad drawing. :frowning:

i understand its easier to just make a shape and add a hook. i just want to see if its even possible.

Give the chain stretch to constraints and target bones:

Not sure why it’d be necessary, but if you want the controls to be higher, then parent the targets of the constraints to other bones:

thank you it works as intended.
