How can i Uv map this linear so it is easyer to edit in gimp?

So I have been working on a game and am not really experienced in blender regarding Uv mapping:
In the attached .blend file I made a uV that is very hard to paint. I want to edit this later in gimp so I can make straight lines and not somehow streched .

However, concerning subject - you either compromise or make seams everywhere so that detail can be flattened fully.
