How do I make foot IK snap to the rig?

Hey there!
I am trying to figure this out but I am stuck.

When rigging a leg with a 2 IK-chain and is using the IKLegTarget bone to control the leg, that works fine.

However, when I use the pelvisbone to move the entire rig up, the IKLegTargetbone stayes in place.

How do I make it follow the rig without causing problems? It must be a easy fix, I just can´t see it.

Thankful for any help I can get.

Usually, what you’re describing is exactly what you want: by leaving the IK target independent of the pelvic bone, you can easily have the bird bob up and down. If you want to move the entire bird as a whole, you’d either move the armature as an object (presuming the bird object is parented to the armature), or you’d create a new root bone, to which both pelvis and IK targets were parented.

But it’s not like there’s any right way to animate, just whatever is most convenient for what you want to do. If you want the IK targets to move with the pelvis, parent those bones to the pelvis.

What I want is that all controllers move up with the pelvis, but stay their relative distance.

If I just parent it, IK no longer works. I tried limited distance and copy location but that allso brakes the rig.

Sure, I can animate and just accept that the IK falls behind, It just bothers me.

Hi, as bandages all ready said the pelvic usually don’t control the leges, you should have a root bone in your armature to enable you to move all the controls of the character together.
