how do you make the sun appear?

I created a sun lamp and turned on the sky and atmoshpere but when I render the image the sun is not there. how do i fix this?

I use the sparkly eyestechnique.

EDIT: no wait, i was confused there. Cloudbursting. sorry. Sparkly eyes is for making friends.

ok ok, sorry. just hang a sphere in the sky, with a yellow color and emit up to 100%
