Could you share us the link to the tutorial. Then we might be able to help…
Which part are you exactly having trouble with?
Do make sure you first tab out of edit mode of the bezier curve, then add the bezier circle in top view.
damn it man dis st is pissin me off
WTF u need a fking circle for anyways !!!
can you plz tell me how to do it ?
coz the tutorial is telling s**t
plz n thnx
That’s because the candle primitive has not been implemented yet.
Dude, care for your temper. Stay friendly -> get help -> be happy.
Say precisely what you can’t do and people will tell you how.
mmmmkkk
i skipped the wick bit but now i dunno how to use the ipo
it says to select alpha but it dosnt show and it says to click the ball button to make it show and it still no show
Can I point out that if you don’t understand the IPO and alpha ( and neither do I ) that you are jumping ahead of your skill and knowledge level.
A lot of tutorials assume you understand ALL the basics. I thought IPO was very mysterious untill Greybeard’s tutes came along, although I still haven’t tackled it.
I tried that candle tutorial a long time ago and the wick baffled me too. I have a little better understanding of bezier curves and extrusion along a path now.I might be able to work it out next time.
I remember when the castle building tutorial was almost impossible to understand, it’s a breeze now.
would u know of any other tutorial that would get my skill better ?
of understanding more of blender’s functions
The manual and online tutes can help.

From the tut:
Making a wick
In right view add a bezier curve and shape it as shown. Next add a bezier circle in top view and name it by clicking on OB: field in edit buttons menu. Now select the bezier curve again and while still in the Edit Buttons window click on BevOb button and enter the name of circle (see above). The cirvle is now extruded along the path. By scaling the circle you can adjust the wick´s proportions.
Underlined is what you need the circle for.
it says to select alpha but it dosnt show and it says to click the ball button to make it show and it still no show
In the IPO window Header is a dropdown Menu (default = OBJECT). Select MATERIAL and you’ll see it has a red BALL sitting next to it. And in the column on the right, the 11’th item from the top is (you guessed it !!) ALPHA.
At the top of the tutorial is this:
I wrote this tutorial several weeks ago for Czech Blender begginers and this is the English version of it.
Remember that most of the innovators here don’t speak your finger-lickin, vanilla brand of english, but they are keen to share what they know (politely).

i found the material part
but still
In right view add a bezier curve and shape it as shown. Next add a bezier circle in top view and name it by clicking on OB: field in edit buttons menu.
Underlined is what you need the circle for.
it dosnt tell what it is used for
The circle is an outline, a profile for the wick. It will automatically be extruded along the bezier curve as soon as you enter it’s name in BevOb. This can be done with other curves too. Read about it here:

If you would have tried it out, you would have seen the effect yourself.
