How Does UV Mapping Work for Tileable Textures?

I have a pair of pants that I want textured with one tileable texture, so I unwrapped them on the pants and then scaled them x10 to shrink the texture. However, there is one part of the pants to which I wish to apply a custom texture. How would I add this to the UV mapping? I can’t put it in the image that I imported into blender or it will show up every time the image gets tiled.

Thanks!

can give that part a new material

you can either use a different material, or only tile in one direction. Here is an example of the latter: the texture is only tileable horizontally. (not sure if tiling is used here, but it is possible with this texture)

This seems like the best method. How do I get this to work?
