Try to download the Blender from Steam, if you have one.
Or, just download a bit earlier or never version. 3.6.1 is current stable release.

Hmmm not sure why

I Just checked and simply hovering over the colour (without opening the colour wheel) Ctr C and Ctrl V works fine, as well.

I am on Linux as well.

OK guys I changes my desktop manager from Lubuntu to IceWM and now works but I will investigate more on that to figure why it’s happens, thanks to everyone for the supports and time!

Yes you are right, no need to select the hex code.

I get the same error as the op if I open the colour wheel with hex code and ctrl c

Then in the destination try to ctrl v without opening thee colour wheel.

This is logical because when I opened the colour wheel I copied the hex code (which is 6 digit mixed numerical and alphabetic values.

If you try to paste that by just hovering over the colour (without the colour wheel) Blender says “hey I expected 4 numbers” because it it expecting you to paste in RGBA values.

you can not paste a hex value into an RGBA value.
