You can start like this using 2 curves one Bezier for the stalk and a curve circle for the profile. Adjust the curve circle to have an interesting shape…

Thanks but the Vine itself is not the problem, nor the leaves. There are parts of the skin stripping and curling away.

I thought maybe once meshed separate into sections and extract then bend, but not sure how to do this.
