How should I light this skull?


It looks great in the viewport but I can’t figure out how to light it to get a good read of all the shapes.

Light (and composition) can be subjective, but a 3 point setup might be a good start for lighting. See this for a reference : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQ1IE-CMik8

After that, you can experiment with additional lights to enhance certain parts, and take a look at other features (ex : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElMM3u2MO5k )

If you were to add a bit more detail then you might get nice results with Reversed Key Ligting…
