.Blend files… so how do i use them? where do you put these in order to use them? the Plugins folder? the Texture Folder? where blender is strored on your computer?

bump map,… bump texture,. eh…

i dont know much yet about blender, " truespace 7 rightt now ", but im liking blender as i learn more

Look here. A word of friendly advice: Google your problem before you start a thread about it, as I got this link off a Google search of “bump mapping in blender”. The steps stated in the tutorial are the same for what you want to do, except that you need to load the texture and then choose the mapping type.

Cheers and God bless.

And here is the Google same search string for thewiki manual which is pretty good too.

wow the answer was right under my nose.

gettin used to blender, i didnt know bump maps were NOR.
Blender is surely unlike any other program ive used. i think everything's more in depth with Blender.

usually other programs have bump maps and material thumbnails that you can see, click on the icon, and drag it on to your model. wahlah!!

but i got it now, thanks yal,

Well, hopefully in 2.5 we will have such drag and drop functionality.

Hey
I’m new in blender and I already done a model of Spitfire (in finished projects) now I’m modelling a Vought F4U Corsair I have a basic shape and I want to add a rivets and some more details.
But every bump map I do is really creepy ;/ How can I do it good ? I read this article on blender wiki and article about normal maps but I’m not able to do a high poly model and the bake it . Please help
Thanks in advance

For those of us who are sydlexic… does anyone know of any good video tutorials on this subject?

This is really cool, but plowing through the manual is not working for me.

I don’t have any sound in my work so can’t confirm how good of a tutorial this may be but its worth a shot:
