How to create a bigger fluid simulation splash

Hi everybody,

I’m currently making an animation of a few solid objects dropping into a body of water. So far I’ve been unable to make a big splash when the objects hit the water. The fluid reacts as if it’s some kind of pudding instead of bouncing up and generating small droplets. Raising the resolution division doesn’t seem to help. Changing the speed of the dropped objects doesn’t help either. When I change the solid objects to a fluid (flow: geometry), I get more movement in the water.

Is this a limitation of Mantaflow or is there a way to make the impact of the object have a bigger effect? Would the Flip Fluids add-on give better results for this kind of simulation?

Just for clarity: I want to create a splash such as this

did you find the answer? i am facing exact same problem
