How to create a double sided mesh with texture?

I’m trying to create a double sided mesh and texture after applying ambient occlusion and baking into texture.

I tried to use 2 ways by duplicating the existing model and flipping normal and i also tried adding solidify modifier, doesn’t seems to work though.

Please advise how should I solve this issue.

  1. test01 as per attached is original application of ambient occlusion without any flip and solidify modifier but underneath it’s transparent and empty.
  2. solidify01 (added solidify modifier)
  3. duplicate01 (duplicate and flip normal)
