How to create underlined text objects?

How can I make an underlined text object? I’ve tried clicking on this Underline checkbox when in object and in edit mode and it makes no difference. I’ve tried adjusting the underline position and thickness and I see no difference.


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Add Text object, go to edit mode, enable ‘Underline’ and type the text you want underlined.
