Yes, I’ve read several posts on fixing UV seams. However, none of them I’ve found are in very good detail or are old. If you could give me a good step by step on how I might fix this seam that would be a great help. The model is for a game in Unity, so a compatible solution would be appritiated.
If fitting the 2D texture to the map is still problematic, it might be better to texture paint and use that texture as a stencil. It’ll take a bit of shifting it around as you move your view around the model to paint it on. I don’t see why such approach wouldn’t work, it just requires some patience.
Well, I have several more seams now trying to stencil paint it. That was my first thought, but there are too many points that have to line up on the leather straps.
Straighten edges around one poly using method mentioned by eppo. But then select that one poly face in the UV editor and remap with “follow active quads”. That should even your UV map out as a grid.
