How To Identify A Linked Duplicate?

Hi All,

I have (Cube) Alt+D duplicate objects scattered throughout my scene.
Is there an icon that appears anywhere to tell me that the cube I have selected is one of many linked duplicates? (A number to say its been Alt+D however many times)

I may want to adjust this one cube in isolation but unsure if it will then be editing any hidden duplicates in the scene.

Thanks,

You can look at how many users of the mesh data the object has :

In my case 3 objects are using the same data = 3 duplicates

To (maybe) deepen this (or bedazzle more )… blender does make a new Object but with a link to the same Object.data… so the “content” of the object is not only the same (equal item) but the selfsame (identity).

While doing the duplification blender appends .001 or any incrementation to the name but that does not mean the one without number is “the original”… You also can delete any expect up to for example .023… then this will be “the only one”.

And that’s the reason for the number of the use(rs) of the data.
