How to import a google sketchup files or .skp files

Hi,

I wanted to import a .skp file in blender with texture. Can anyone suggest any stable process for that? I got an addon over internet, but that is only a python script no documentation regarding the same. I have no idea how to install it and call it for the action. Thanks in advance.

Hello
You can import google kmz files, exported from sketchup
kmz - is zip archive with dae 3d scene (this is collada file), and textures

Install/Enable addon (File -> User preferences)
Once enabled, probably you should find it in the File ->import menu (it depends on how the addon has been coded).

Got no infos on .skp files importing, if you have sketchup probably you could export in other formats compatible with blender.

Hi,

Thanks everyone for the support. I figured it out. Now I am facing another problem. After I got the .skp file, which is with texture within itself. I want to convert them to either fbx or dxf WITH TEXTURE. Models are getting exported but the texture are not coming.

Or is there a way I can extract the textures out of the .skp file so that we can use in other 3D program?
