Hi, I was just wondering how to light a phone in blender, I can’t seem to get it to look realistic. Do you want to have a go? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5ZXRIpl-Z6vTlBtVFhGM3liSjA/view?usp=sharing
The model is clean, that should work !
try using a “studio” HDRI for the environment like this one : http://www.mrbluesummers.com/4701/downloads/free-hdri-map-photo-studio-with-umbrella
In the world settings set emission like 4 or 7 , that should get you started.
Of course if you need more control, you can use some planes with emissive material around the object to get nice specific reflections…
Then you can lower the HDRI . But matching the HDRI will get you insight on where to place these planes and what size they need to be.
Also, not exactly related to lighting, but you can use Blender 2.79 and the new filmic settings, that will allow you to push environment light to 10 or more and get a more interesting result.
Nice model deserve nice lighting !
