How to make a top-cover (quilt) on a bed?

I’ve been looking for a way to create a realistic top-cover (quilt) of a bed. Something like…these.

What I’d like to create is a cloth that has some thickness such as a bed quilt with feather inside or a cushion with cotton inside and make it collide against something else keeping its thickness to some extent.

Are there any ways to create an object like this using Blender?

There are lots of tutorials of how to make a thin blanket for a bed using cloth simulator and giving them some thickness using solidify later. However, I’m not sure how I can handle this “soft cloth object that has some thickness” in Blender.

What I tried so far is…

  1. Create a quilt using force field

  2. Tried to make it collide against an object using “soft body”.

  3. Well, it didn’t work well…or, at most…but not satisfactory…

Well, just a note for myself.
This idea might be able to help something to some extent in my case. (Might not be…)

Then, I tried this…

  1. Create a bed quilt.
  2. Create a plane. Simulate it as cloth.
  3. Apply solidify to the plane to give the thickness that dose cover the quilt.
  4. Apply mesh deform making the plane as the matrix.
  5. Bind.

could you put that more in-depth?
