How to make an array along a spiral curve without deformation

Hi everyone!
I have to make a LED strip and for this I’ve created a plane that has to follow a spiral curve, that means that the plane has to wrapped around the curve. I add the modifiers “array” and “curve” and it would have worked great, if it didn’t deform also my height’s and width’s plane.

How can I avoid to deform its height and width?

You can not because as the full name goes it’s a Curve Deform modifier. However you can exploit Object’s (your plane’s) Face Duplication - other objects Parented to Plane wont be distorted yet will follow Plane in 3d space.
