RickyBlender - SO SORRY I MISSED YOUR QUESTION - I’m blind! The importer is Remi Fiedler’s: http://www.cad4arch.com/dxf_importer/index.htm. I have been using it since 2.66 or 2.67 (I think) with good results.

don’t do a lot of DXF import and this one seems to be a paid soft
so for time being i’ll see if i can find a free one

as i ask before is your model one object or multi objets scan
and what do you want to do with this ?
is it making one or several nice 3D objects meshes ?

or more like a sort of voxel representaion?

thansk

Well this is very good to see your .blend file TynkaTopi… I was getting discouraged by not seeing anything in Cycles, but now see in your .blend that you use BI and have your cubes showing.

It is also good to see BI can now do real time View / Render Mode!

No money needed, but you need to ask him for permission and password. I am most interested in his other CAD tools and maybe sometime they will be working beyond Blender 2.49.

The answer: there are thousands of individual points; I do not look at making any mesh from them however, but rather showing the (2) kinds of points: [01] Unclassified and [02] Ground. This is in connection with other software that I’m studying; MCC-LIDAR, which looks at the unclassified points and will reclassify those points which fit a criteria and then be reclassified as ground all with the intent to better define the ground in forested areas - very cool stuff for this nerdy surveyor

I don’t know what voxel is…

well voxel is a little like example given by tinka Topi

now there is also the volumetric features that might be possible
sorry but i cannot test it i still have my oldy PC 32 bits
and wont get a new one before christmass this year!

are you happy with example or

are there other things you want to do or test ?

happy cycles

I’m happily overwhelmed

Thank you very much for kind words and encouragement.
