So I’m making a 3d stick man and was wondering if I could possibly make its legs more of a cylinder? I tried using bevel but it distorted them.
It’s a little tedious, but you could select all the loops individually and make them circles using the Loop Tools: Circle
Another option, the legs look pretty simple. It might be faster to delete them up to where they connect to the body, or wherever you want them to start being cylindrical, make the hole a circle, then rebuild them from the new circular base.
If you’re not already using a mirror modifier, and want to use one of these methods, it may also help you to delete half the model and use a mirror modifier, so you don’t have to do whatever you decide on both legs.
There’s also sculpting as an option, trying to smooth out the squarer edges, but that’s less of a sure thing in getting things perfectly cylindrical (if that’s what you’re going for)
I didnt know loop tools was a thing, seems useful. But it totally deformed my mesh, so I’ll probably just end up deleting the legs like you said.
Actually, on what you said about just re making the legs. Is there an easier way to connect the torso and the leg? Or how should I go about doing this.
That’s a thing that happens sometimes, especially if you try to do more than one loop at once, but I consider it rare enough to be worth a try most of the time.
Without actually seeing your file from what you have here, it looks like you should just be able to fill it with faces the normal way pretty quickly. There’s also the bridge tool if the two areas you’re connecting have the same number of verts:
I’m having some trouble telling from your image. Did you also delete the area between the legs, the crotch region? If you did, filling that in first might make it easier to attach the leg. I find it easier, anyway.
Looks good.
I like the shader on him.
