How do i paste in Blender?

Paste what exactly? To copy an object you select your object and hit shift + d. I’m not sure if this was what you wanted, though.

After you copy an object with shitft + d, you should just have to move your mouse, your copied object will follow, and then left click where you want your newly copied object.

One thing I’d like to add is that you have to make sure you are in Object Mode when you duplicate the object. If you are in edit mode, your objects will be linked together! This really gave me trouble when I was learning Blender basics.

Heh heh, and, the Esc key is your friend. If you want to copy an object but not be required to choose a new position, just hit Esc and the grab (but not the copy) will be aborted: new object – same location.
Yea! I found that out the hard way when I ended up having 5 copies of the same object in one place!! :<
