How to reduce noise when baking an ambient occlusion texture?

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong here. The bake is always noisy regardless of resolution or samples. This bake was made with 10,000 samples, yes, ten thousand.

In fact, the bake is the same whether samples are set to 1 or 10,000.

I’m aware that you can bake a diffuse texture using an AO node but that method doesn’t work for multi-object models.

Wow. What does the mesh look like? Modifiers, materials? It looks to me like you have higher frequency detail in the mesh than you can pick up in the resolution of your AO image.

It’s a very dense dyntopo mesh, no modifiers, no materials. 8k texture is just as noisy

So I’ve done a bunch of troubleshooting and I believe I might have found the issue. The bake seems to work as it should, but only when rendering with CPU. GPU render doesn’t work properly.
Im using a 5700xt.
