How to setup a fading shader?

Hey follks, new Blender user here. I have assigned those 4 faces with a glow material. However, what can I do to fade out the highlighted area and reveal another mesh underneath?

Hi MarioPeper, is it possible to add an emission node into this cycle? If so, where should I add it?

The emission slot is in operation, maybe you mean glow. You have to do that with cycles in the compositor. Or you compositing it with a eevee render
