Idk why it does this but if I export an obj without sharp & import it back in, it has a hideous amount of sharp everywhere. I want to create a smooth round wall but this makes it look very angular and quite hideous. Is there any way to stop it from forcing its obnoxious sharpness onto my object? I’ve tried edge split, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference no matter how many edges I split.
I didn’t test it, but the .obj export has some options, visible by opening a sidebar in the file dialog. One of those, under the collapsed “Geometry” section, is labelled “Write normals.” That’s what I’d disable to prevent exporting with sharp edges (or other custom normals.)
