I’m rendering out large animations in Blender, and I was wondering how to use Yafray? (I have a mac, if that matters any) I tried installing Yafray, but I couldn’t figure it out.

Make sure you have a compatible version of blender and python installed, again read the notes.
The default location for python scriptsis actually a hidden folder, if you need to view it use this dashboard widget http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/developer/hiddenfiles.html
If you do a forum search for yafaray you’ll get loads of hits as the installation issues have been covered many times.
To use yafaray read its documentation http://www.yafaray.org/documentation/userguide
If that doesn’t work, maybe you’re better sticking to the blender internal renderer.
